{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-727","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 31A-22-727","heading":"Renewal, cancellation, and modification.","body":"(1) Except as provided in Section 31A-22-618.6, for a group insurance policy offering accident and health insurance or a blanket insurance policy offering accident and health insurance, an insurer may:\n(a) decline to renew the policy on the date the policy term expires for a reason stated in the policy; or\n(b) cancel the policy at any time for:\n(i) nonpayment of a premium when due;\n(ii) intentional misrepresentation of a material fact in connection with the coverage;\n(iii) performance of an act or practice that constitutes fraud in connection with the coverage; or\n(iv) noncompliance with an employer eligibility provision.\n(2) Except for a modification required by law, an insurer may only modify a policy at renewal.\n(3) Subsection (2) does not apply to an endorsement by which the insurer:\n(a) effectuates a request the policyholder made in writing; or\n(b) exercises a specifically reserved right under the policy.","path":["Title 31A Insurance Code","Chapter 31A-22 Contracts in Specific Lines","Part 31A-22-7 Group Accident and Health Insurance"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/Chapter22/31A-22-S727.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"227dc70c4162f60e90be0125efbf06948c5459c2d8525fd58938ddb626152d4b","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-726","next":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-728"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
