{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-26-216","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 31A-26-216","heading":"Portable electronics adjusting.","body":"(1) As used in this section, \"automated claims adjudication system\" means a preprogrammed computer system designed for the collection, data entry, calculation, and final resolution of a portable electronics insurance claim that:\n(a) may only be used by a Utah licensed independent adjuster, a Utah licensed producer, or an individual supervised as provided in this section;\n(b) complies with the claims payment requirements of this title; and\n(c) is certified as compliant with this section by a Utah licensed independent adjuster that is an officer of an organization licensed under this chapter.\n(2) An individual is exempt from licensure as an adjuster, if the individual for purposes of a portable electronics insurance claim:\n(a) collects claim information from, or furnishes claim information to, insureds or claimants;\n(b) conducts data entry, including entering data into an automated claims adjudication system;\n(c) is an employee of a licensed independent adjuster or its affiliate; and\n(d) is one of no more than 25 individuals who are under the supervision of:\n(i) a Utah licensed independent adjuster; or\n(ii) a Utah licensed producer who is exempt from licensure pursuant to Section 31A-26-201.","path":["Title 31A Insurance Code","Chapter 31A-26 Insurance Adjusters","Part 31A-26-2 Licensing and Registration of Insurance Adjusters"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/Chapter26/31A-26-S216.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"a04ad639b50d84a08f4e6fe4154d337aab99b7f5e263f3630d9a017e48ee53cb","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-26-215","next":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-26-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
