{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-35-202","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 31A-35-202","heading":"Board responsibilities.","body":"(1) The board shall:\n(a) meet:\n(i) at least quarterly; and\n(ii) at the call of the chair;\n(b) make written recommendations to the commissioner for rules governing the following aspects of the bail bond insurance business:\n(i) qualifications, applications, and fees for obtaining:\n(A) a license required by this Section 31A-35-401; or\n(B) a certificate;\n(ii) limits on the aggregate amounts of bail bonds;\n(iii) unprofessional conduct;\n(iv) procedures for hearing and resolving allegations of unprofessional conduct; and\n(v) sanctions for unprofessional conduct;\n(c) screen:\n(i) bail bond agency license applications; and\n(ii) persons applying for a bail bond agency license; and\n(d) recommend to the commissioner action regarding the granting, suspending, revoking, and reinstating of bail bond agency license.\n(2) Nothing in Subsection (1)(d) precludes the commissioner from suspending a license under Section 31A-35-504.\n(3) The board may:\n(a) conduct investigations of allegations of unprofessional conduct on the part of persons or bail bond agencies involved in the business of bail bond insurance; and\n(b) provide the results of the investigations described in Subsection (3)(a) to the commissioner with recommendations for:\n(i) action; and\n(ii) any appropriate sanctions.","path":["Title 31A Insurance Code","Chapter 31A-35 Bail Bond Act","Part 31A-35-2 Commercial Bail Bond Surety Oversight Board"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/Chapter35/31A-35-S202.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"a4048d67344498d697efd2e82b6cf24b86b5f41ca23eea521c8221b43806940f","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-35-201","next":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-35-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
