{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-41-203","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 31A-41-203","heading":"Use of money.","body":"(1) Money in the fund may be used to pay claims made under Part 3, Claims on Fund.\n(2)\n(a) Except as limited by Subsection (2)(b), money in the fund in excess of $250,000 may be used by the commissioner, with the consent of the commission, to:\n(i) investigate violations of this chapter related to fraud by a title insurance licensee;\n(ii) conduct education and research in the field of title insurance; or\n(iii) examine a title insurance licensee's:\n(A) escrow and trust account;\n(B) examination procedures; or\n(C) compliance with applicable statutes and rules.\n(b) The commissioner may not use more than 75% of money collected under this chapter in a fiscal year from assessments and interest for the purposes outlined in this Subsection (2).\n(3) The disclosure of an examination conducted under this section is governed by Section 31A-2-204.","path":["Title 31A Insurance Code","Chapter 31A-41 Title Insurance Recovery, Education, and Research Fund Act","Part 31A-41-2 Creation of Fund"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/Chapter41/31A-41-S203.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"98dd6f001dd40351435bb153c0c7609e3e9cb66fad5da704e4a1e7d0db5d54f5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-41-202","next":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-41-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
