{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-45-402","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 31A-45-402","heading":"Alcohol and drug dependency treatment.","body":"(1) A managed care organization offering a health benefit plan providing coverage for alcohol or drug dependency treatment may require an inpatient facility to be licensed by:\n(a)\n(i) the Department of Health and Human Services, under Title 26B, Chapter 2, Part 1, Human Services Programs and Facilities; or\n(ii) the Department of Health and Human Services; or\n(b) for an inpatient facility located outside the state, a state agency similar to one described in Subsection (1)(a).\n(2) For inpatient coverage provided pursuant to Subsection (1), a managed care organization may require an inpatient facility to be accredited by the following:\n(a) the Joint Commission; and\n(b) one other nationally recognized accrediting agency.","path":["Title 31A Insurance Code","Chapter 31A-45 Managed Care Organizations","Part 31A-45-4 Access to Services for Managed Care Enrollees"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/Chapter45/31A-45-S402.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"3d90f4458066d0b92d6880f00bc143aa377f2207897f50f20b978dfbc824865e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-45-401","next":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-45-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
