{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-32b-11-603","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 32B-11-603","heading":"Commission's power to issue local industry representative license.","body":"(1)\n(a) Before a person described in Subsection (2) may represent an alcoholic product of a manufacturer, supplier, or importer, the person shall obtain a local industry representative license from the commission in accordance with this part.\n(b) A violation of this Subsection (1) is a class B misdemeanor.\n(2) The commission may issue a local industry representative license to a person who is:\n(a)\n(i) an individual resident of Utah;\n(ii) a Utah partnership;\n(iii) a Utah corporation; or\n(iv) a Utah limited liability company; and\n(b) employed by a manufacturer, supplier, or importer, to represent a liquor product with the department, a package agency, licensee, or permittee under this title, whether compensated by salary, commission, or another means.\n(3) An individual staff member of a local industry representative licensee is not required to be separately licensed.\n(4) A local industry representative may represent more than one manufacturer, supplier, or importer at a time.\n(5)\n(a) A manufacturer, supplier, or importer is not required to use a local industry representative to represent its products with the department, a package agency, licensee, or permittee, except that staff of a manufacturer, supplier, or importer who is not a local industry representative shall register with the department, on a form provided by the department, before the staff represents an alcoholic product while in the state with the department, a package agency, licensee, or permittee.\n(b) A manufacturer, supplier, or importer described in Subsection (5)(a) and its staff are subject to the same operational requirements of this part and Chapter 4, Criminal Offenses and Procedure Act.","path":["Title 32B Alcoholic Beverage Control Act","Chapter 32B-11 Manufacturing and Related Licenses Act","Part 32B-11-6 Local Industry Representative License Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title32B/Chapter11/32B-11-S603.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"6a4e4ae84ae22e9de7aba8cac7554940ed25257d9bcfaec1ee5c0d591884b5f1","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-32b-11-602","next":"us-ut/utah-code-32b-11-604"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
