{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-32b-13-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 32B-13-201","heading":"Commission's power to issue beer wholesaling license.","body":"(1)\n(a) Before a person may purchase, store, sell, offer for sale, distribute, or import beer to a person who sells at retail or acts in any way as a beer wholesaler, the person shall first obtain a beer wholesaling license issued by the commission in accordance with this chapter.\n(b) A violation of Subsection (1)(a) is a class A misdemeanor.\n(2)\n(a) The commission may issue a beer wholesaling license for the purchase, storage, sale, distribution, transportation, and import of beer.\n(b) A beer wholesaling license entitles the beer wholesaler licensee to:\n(i) purchase and import beer into the state;\n(ii) store beer in an approved warehouse; and\n(iii) sell and distribute beer directly to:\n(A) a beer retailer; or\n(B) an event permittee.\n(3) Nothing in this section precludes a small brewer from selling beer the small brewer manufactures directly to:\n(a) a retail licensee;\n(b) an off-premise beer retailer; or\n(c) an event permittee.","path":["Title 32B Alcoholic Beverage Control Act","Chapter 32B-13 Beer Wholesaling License Act","Part 32B-13-2 Beer Wholesaling License Process"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title32B/Chapter13/32B-13-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"f8de28735551182d5de003bd3ba5ec0756797247b1c3c947d73cf9d27a2405fd","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-32b-13-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-32b-13-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
