{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-34-23-103","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 34-23-103","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Calendar week\" means a period of any seven consecutive calendar days.\n(2) \"Casual work\" is employment on an incidental, occasional, or nonregular basis which is not considered full-time or routine.\n(3) \"Commission\" means the Labor Commission.\n(4) \"Division\" means the Division of Antidiscrimination and Labor in the commission.\n(5) \"Hazardous agricultural occupation\" means any occupation defined as hazardous by the United States Department of Labor under 29 C.F.R. Sec. 570.71, subject to the exception described in 29 C.F.R. Sec. 570.70(b) and the exemptions described in 29 C.F.R. Sec. 570.72.\n(6) \"Hazardous occupation\" is any occupation defined as hazardous by the United States Department of Labor under 29 U.S.C. Sec. 201 et seq., the Fair Labor Standards Act.\n(7) \"Labor Day\" means the legal holiday called Labor Day established in Section 63G-1-301.\n(8) \"Minor\" means an individual under 18 years old.\n(9) \"Minor's school district\" means the public school district in which a minor resides while the minor is employed.\n(10) \"School day\" means any calendar day in which students are required to attend school, including a partial day, in a minor's school district.\n(11) \"School week\" means any calendar week in which students are required to attend school, including a partial day, in a minor's school district.","path":["Title 34 Labor in General","Chapter 34-23 Employment of Minors","Part 34-23-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title34/Chapter23/34-23-S103.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"e84b2d23f412d1a9320a70248f06074e1df5236d76ff8ac0c45e14ed88bad6cd","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-34-23-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-34-23-104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
