{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-34-44-301","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 34-44-301","heading":"Failure to pay commission.","body":"(1) A sales representative may bring a civil action in a court of competent jurisdiction against a principal for failure by the principal to comply with:\n(a) any provision of an agreement relating to the payment of commission; or\n(b) Subsection 34-44-202(1) or (2).\n(2) If a principal is found liable under Subsection (1), the principal is liable to the sales representative for:\n(a) three times an amount calculated by:\n(i) determining the sum of unpaid commission owed to the sales representative; and\n(ii) subtracting from the amount determined under Subsection (2)(a)(i) money the sales representative owes the principal;\n(b) reasonable attorney fees; and\n(c) court costs.","path":["Title 34 Labor in General","Chapter 34-44 Sales Representative Commission Payment Act","Part 34-44-3 Remedies"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title34/Chapter44/34-44-S301.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"e9ed71b3cfdf0da3a1946ba0530e2b94b194387d07b20d801ab4833d1e58eedd","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-34-44-203","next":"us-ut/utah-code-34-44-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
