{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-34-50-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 34-50-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Department\" means the Department of Veterans and Military Affairs, created in Section 71A-1-201.\n(2) \"Discharge document\" means a document received by a service member upon separation from military service, including:\n(a) a DD 214, United States Department of Defense Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty;\n(b) a DD 256, United States Department of Defense Honorable Discharge Certificate;\n(c) a DD 257, United States General Discharge Certificate; or\n(d) an NGB 22, Utah National Guard Certificate of Release or Discharge.\n(3) \"Preference eligible\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 71A-2-101.\n(4) \"Private employer\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 63G-12-102.\n(5) \"Service member\" means a currently serving member of the armed forces.\n(6) \"Veteran\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 68-3-12.5.","path":["Title 34 Labor in General","Chapter 34-50 Veterans Preference in Private Employment Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title34/Chapter50/34-50-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"fbe6f35a738f5bf5fae99ce347076b6608d50b72687fc2a54e0adc0bd1df0ca0","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-34-50-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-34-50-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
