{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-34-53a-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 34-53a-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Digital application\" means an Internet-connected software application that a person uses to obtain or provide a remote service.\n(2) \"Marketplace company\" means a person that:\n(a) offers a digital application to the public; and\n(b) accepts requests for remote services exclusively through the person's digital application.\n(3)\n(a) \"Remote service\" means a service that a person performs remotely through a digital application.\n(b) \"Remote service\" includes tutoring, closed captioning, open captioning, subtitling, transcribing, translating, interpreting, and conducting a language assessment remotely through a digital application.\n(4) \"Remote-service contractor\" means a person who uses a marketplace company's digital application to provide a remote service to another person.","path":["Title 34 Labor in General","Chapter 34-53a Remote Service Marketplace Platforms Act","Part 34-53a-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title34/Chapter53a/34-53a-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"2b81228c4279e17b449b0e8e00f90c75b3c984d356725f3d1b605c62b5c510f2","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-34-53a-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-34-53a-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
