{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-13-611","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 35A-13-611","heading":"Unlawful conduct.","body":"\"Unlawful conduct\" means conduct by an individual that is defined as unlawful under this part and includes:\n(1) practicing or engaging in, representing oneself to be practicing or engaging in, or attempting to practice or engage in the profession of a certified interpreter if the individual is:\n(a) not certified to do so and is not exempted from certification under this chapter; or\n(b) restricted from doing so by a restricted, suspended, revoked, temporary, probationary, or inactive certification;\n(2) impersonating another certified interpreter or practicing as a certified interpreter under a false or assumed name, except as permitted by law;\n(3) knowingly employing an individual to practice or engage in or attempt to practice or engage in the profession of a certified interpreter, if the employee is not certified to do so under this chapter;\n(4) knowingly permitting the individual's authority to engage in the profession of a certified interpreter to be used by another individual, except as permitted by law; or\n(5) applying for certification under this part, obtaining certification under this part, or otherwise dealing with the director through the use of fraud, forgery, or intentional deception, misrepresentation, misstatement, or omission.","path":["Title 35A Utah Workforce Services Code","Chapter 35A-13 Utah State Office of Rehabilitation Act","Part 35A-13-6 Interpreter Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title35A/Chapter13/35A-13-S611.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"0f2fa92707fd29e6ef26fc95cfc2f230ec4a83200d4d841d4737dfa610578573","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-13-610","next":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-13-612"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
