{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-2-101","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 35A-2-101","heading":"Economic service areas -- Creation.","body":"(1)\n(a) The executive director shall establish economic service areas to furnish the services described in Section 35A-2-201.\n(b) In establishing economic service areas, the executive director shall seek input from the State Workforce Development Board.\n(2) In establishing the economic service areas, the executive director may consider:\n(a) areas comprised of multiple counties;\n(b) the alignment of transportation and other infrastructure or services;\n(c) the interdependence of the economy within a geographic area;\n(d) the ability to develop regional marketing and economic development programs;\n(e) the labor market areas;\n(f) the population of the area, as established in the most recent estimate by the Utah Population Committee;\n(g) the number of individuals in the previous year receiving:\n(i) services under Chapter 3, Employment Support Act; and\n(ii) benefits under Chapter 4, Employment Security Act; and\n(h) other factors that relate to the management of the programs administered or that relate to the delivery of services provided under this title.","path":["Title 35A Utah Workforce Services Code","Chapter 35A-2 Economic Service Areas","Part 35A-2-1 Organization"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title35A/Chapter2/35A-2-S101.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"0c5a2ce759586a3845308c97c690d0bf15195cf62519d74df4d4487d9cff3a37","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-1-503","next":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-2-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
