{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-3-607","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 35A-3-607","heading":"Property subject to execution or lien -- Restriction on transfer or conveyance -- Release of excess amount above liability to obligor.","body":"(1)\n(a) Unless released under Subsection (1)(b), after receiving notice that an abstract has been docketed and a lien established under this part, a person in possession of property that may be subject to execution or lien may not pay over, release, sell, transfer, encumber, or convey that property to a person other than the department.\n(b) The restrictions under Subsection (1)(a) do not apply if the person in possession first receives a release or waiver from the department, or a court order releasing the lien or stating that the liability does not exist or has been satisfied.\n(2) If a person has in his possession earnings, deposits, accounts, or balances owed to the obligor in excess of $100 over the amount of the liability claimed by the department, the person may, without liability under this part, release the excess to the obligor.","path":["Title 35A Utah Workforce Services Code","Chapter 35A-3 Employment Support Act","Part 35A-3-6 Administrative Determination of Overpayment Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title35A/Chapter3/35A-3-S607.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"0dc376c95de72909c3a86a6d2ebdb29e518bcc5ff9f3abe7c5294d7fee0d3cc1","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-3-606","next":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-3-608"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
