{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-4-403.5","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 35A-4-403.5","heading":"Waiver of one-week waiting period during emergency.","body":"For any week beginning on or after January 1, 2020, the department may waive the one-week waiting period described in Subsection 35A-4-403(1)(d) and pay a benefit to an unemployed individual for that week if:\n(1) the unemployed individual otherwise qualifies for a benefit for that week; and\n(2)\n(a) the president of the United States has issued an order declaring a national emergency that is effective in the state during that week;\n(b) the governor has issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency as described in Title 53, Chapter 2a, Emergency Management Act, that is effective during that week; or\n(c) the federal government has agreed to reimburse the department for the cost of paying the benefit for that week.","path":["Title 35A Utah Workforce Services Code","Chapter 35A-4 Employment Security Act","Part 35A-4-4 Benefits and Eligibility"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title35A/Chapter4/35A-4-S403.5.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"2db6d9bbc3f854b6c7ed847e4934203ef6974cbd1fe6e11cabc1e733bf156c9f","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-4-403","next":"us-ut/utah-code-35a-4-404"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
