{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-36-14-4","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 36-14-4","heading":"Service.","body":"Legislative subpoenas may be served:\n(1) within the state, by the sheriff of the county where service is made, or by his deputy, or by any other person 18 years old or older who is not a member of the entity issuing the subpoena;\n(2) in another state or United States territory, by the sheriff of the county where the service is made, or by his deputy, or by a United States marshal or his deputy;\n(3) in a foreign country:\n(a) by following the procedures prescribed by the law of the foreign country;\n(b) upon an individual, by any person 18 years old or older who is not a member of the entity delivering the subpoena to him personally, and upon a corporation or partnership or association, by any person 18 years old or older who is not a member of the entity delivering the subpoena to an officer, a managing or general agent of the corporation, partnership, or association; or\n(c) by any form of mail requiring a signed receipt, to be addressed and dispatched by the legislative general counsel to the party to be served; or\n(4) by electronic transmission requiring acknowledgment of receipt.","path":["Title 36 Legislature","Chapter 36-14 Legislative Subpoena Powers"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title36/Chapter14/36-14-S4.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"0f7a044c4b703f42ca4e6de17b27f5225e355a5d57b9603fbc437462b0b4075a","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-36-14-3","next":"us-ut/utah-code-36-14-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
