{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-39a-3-101","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 39A-3-101","heading":"Utah National Guard -- Creation.","body":"(1) There is created the Department of the Utah National Guard.\n(2) The Utah National Guard is commanded by an adjutant general and consists of the following:\n(a) the joint force headquarters;\n(b) the Utah Army National Guard, commanded by an assistant adjutant general for the Army;\n(c) the Utah Air National Guard, commanded by an assistant adjutant general for the Air Force; and\n(d) the Utah State Defense Force as organized in Title 39A, Chapter 4, Utah State Defense Force.\n(3) The numerical strength, composition, distribution, organization, arms, uniforms, equipment, training, and discipline of the National Guard shall be prescribed by the governor in conformity with the laws and regulations of the United States and the laws of this state.\n(4) The location of units including headquarters, when not otherwise prescribed by federal law, shall be fixed by the governor on the recommendation of the adjutant general.","path":["Title 39A National Guard and Militia Act","Chapter 39A-3 Utah National Guard","Part 39A-3-1 National Guard"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title39A/Chapter3/39A-3-S101.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"c650f142ea5232a42b810a6f66ecfc5dc228e3ad63da2c755b76d0c8d8b748b5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-39a-2-104","next":"us-ut/utah-code-39a-3-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
