{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-4-24-307","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 4-24-307","heading":"Transportation of sheep, cattle, horses, domesticated elk, or mules -- Brand certificate or other evidence of ownership required -- Moving domesticated elk intrastate -- Transit permit -- Contents.","body":"(1) Except as described in Subsection (2) and Section 4-39-305, a person may not transport any sheep, cattle, horses, domesticated elk, or mules without having an official state brand certificate or other proof of ownership in the person's possession.\n(2) A person may transport domesticated elk without an official state brand certificate or other proof of ownership if the person:\n(a) only moves domesticated elk accompanied by an intrastate transfer form provided by the department;\n(b) reports the move to the department within five days;\n(c) only moves domesticated elk from a licensed facility to another licensed facility owned by the same person; and\n(d) only moves domesticated elk intrastate.\n(3) An official state brand inspection certificate shall accompany all domesticated elk sold or slaughtered.\n(4) Each person transporting livestock for another person shall have a transit permit signed by the owner or the owner's authorized agent specifying the:\n(a) name of the person driving the vehicle;\n(b) date of transportation;\n(c) place of origin or loading;\n(d) destination;\n(e) date of issuance;\n(f) number of animals being transported; and\n(g) full description of an animal being transported.","path":["Title 4 Utah Agricultural Code","Chapter 4-24 Utah Livestock Brand and Anti-Theft Act","Part 4-24-3 Inspections"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title4/Chapter24/4-24-S307.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"af940487c5db189ace5673f2d08f7cdace04ba8929f2e06de9dbfe1a9cca41fe","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-4-24-306","next":"us-ut/utah-code-4-24-308"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
