{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-4-24-402","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 4-24-402","heading":"Livestock markets -- Records to be maintained -- Retention of records -- Schedule of fees and charges to be posted.","body":"(1) An owner or operator of a livestock market shall keep a record of:\n(a) the date a consignment of livestock is received for sale together with the number of each type of livestock within the consignment;\n(b) the name and address of the buyer;\n(c) the date of sale and the number and species of livestock purchased by the buyer; and\n(d) the description and brand appearing on each animal at the time of sale to the buyer.\n(2) An owner or operator of a livestock market shall retain the records mandated by this section for a period of two years from the date on which the livestock market sold the livestock.\n(3) A schedule of the fees and commission rates charged by the livestock market shall be posted in a conspicuous place on the premises of each market.\n(4) A statement of the gross sales price, commission, and other fees charged for the sale of a consignment shall be available for inspection by the department, and a copy furnished the owner or consignor of the livestock.","path":["Title 4 Utah Agricultural Code","Chapter 4-24 Utah Livestock Brand and Anti-Theft Act","Part 4-24-4 Sale, Transfer, and Travel"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title4/Chapter24/4-24-S402.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"42e264b3dbef929a69c9066bf21fe741fb416ea75b0fee5e226172c53e98ad40","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-4-24-401","next":"us-ut/utah-code-4-24-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
