{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-4-26-104","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 4-26-104","heading":"Fencing for bison.","body":"Perimeter fencing intended to hold bison shall meet the following minimum standards:\n(1) fence sections and gates shall:\n(a) reach a height of at least eight feet above ground level; and\n(b) be constructed in a mesh pattern consisting of:\n(i) hi-tensile steel wire of at least 14-1/2 gauge;\n(ii) a maximum mesh size of six inches by six inches; or\n(iii) a material with the strength equivalent of the material described in Subsections (1)(b)(i) and (ii);\n(2) fence posts shall:\n(a)\n(i) be constructed of treated wood at least four inches in diameter; and\n(ii) be constructed of a material with the strength equivalent of the material described in Subsection (2)(a)(i);\n(b) reach a height of at least six feet, two inches above ground level;\n(c) have at least two feet of length below ground level;\n(d) be installed at intervals of no more than 20 feet; and\n(e) if located on a corner or connected to a gate, be braced with wood or the strength equivalent of wood; and\n(3) fence stays shall:\n(a) be constructed of treated wood or steel;\n(b) be installed at intervals of no more than 10 feet from any fence post; and\n(c) reach a height of at least six feet, two inches above ground level.","path":["Title 4 Utah Agricultural Code","Chapter 4-26 Enclosures and Fences"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title4/Chapter26/4-26-S104.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"ec97dc379a5642336bdc929bac69a3ecfb88edb7357752d711266aede70dc8b4","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-4-26-103","next":"us-ut/utah-code-4-30-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
