{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-4-3-609","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 4-3-609","heading":"Exemption for small producers.","body":"(1) Except as provided in Subsection (2), notwithstanding the other provisions of this part, a producer may manufacture, distribute, sell, deliver, hold, store, or offer for sale raw milk or a raw milk product without obtaining a permit or complying with this part if:\n(a) the producer produces 500 gallons of raw milk or less in a month that the producer:\n(i) maintains as raw milk; or\n(ii) uses to produce a raw milk product; and\n(b) the producer sells and delivers the raw milk or raw milk product upon the premises where the raw milk or raw milk product is produced.\n(2) A producer exempt from this part under Subsection (1):\n(a) is subject to Section 4-3-606; and\n(b) shall notify the department of the producer's intent to operate under the exemption of Subsection (1) by providing the department:\n(i) the producer's name; and\n(ii) a valid, current address of the location where the producer is operating under the exemption of Subsection (1).","path":["Title 4 Utah Agricultural Code","Chapter 4-3 Utah Dairy Act","Part 4-3-6 Raw Milk"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title4/Chapter3/4-3-S609.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"1b6e0f714fa24ae294bc629f7a7c84d745ac5fc74161a34d4e27e5c73fb33643","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-4-3-608","next":"us-ut/utah-code-4-3-610"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
