{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-4-32-114","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 4-32-114","heading":"Unauthorized use or possession of official devices, labels, marks, or certificates -- False statements, misrepresentations, and trade secrets.","body":"(1) A person may not cast, print, lithograph, or make any device or label containing or bearing any official mark or simulation of a mark, or any form or simulation of an official certificate, unless authorized by the commissioner.\n(2) A person may not:\n(a) forge any official device, mark, or certificate;\n(b) use any official device, mark, or certificate without the authorization of the commissioner;\n(c) alter, detach, deface, or destroy any official device, mark, or certificate;\n(d) fail to use, detach, deface, or destroy any official device, mark, or certificate as required by this chapter;\n(e) knowingly possess any of the following, if it bears any unauthorized, counterfeit, simulated, forged, or altered official mark:\n(i) an official device;\n(ii) a counterfeit, simulated, forged, or altered official certificate;\n(iii) a device;\n(iv) a label;\n(v) a carcass of any animal, including poultry; or\n(vi) a part or product of any animal, including poultry;\n(f) knowingly make any false statement in any shipper's certificate, or nonofficial or official certificate;\n(g) knowingly represent that any meat or poultry product has been inspected and approved, or exempted, under this chapter when, in fact, it has not; or\n(h) use to the person's advantage or reveal any information acquired under the authority of this chapter relating to any matter entitled to protection as a trade secret unless the information is:\n(i) revealed to an authorized government representative; or\n(ii) ordered by a court in a judicial proceeding.","path":["Title 4 Utah Agricultural Code","Chapter 4-32 Utah Meat and Poultry Products Inspection and Licensing Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title4/Chapter32/4-32-S114.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"58fb72b1cc9787dddcbb18c9072d99292e879881d99ffb67d1ceb6389dd097f5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-4-32-113","next":"us-ut/utah-code-4-32-115"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
