{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-40-14-101","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 40-14-101","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Board\" means the Board of Oil, Gas, and Mining created in Section 40-6-4.\n(2) \"Division\" means the Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining created in Section 40-6-15.\n(3) \"Eligible permit\" means a permit:\n(a) enforced by the division; and\n(b) identified for expedited review in board rule under Section 40-14-203.\n(4) \"Expedited review\" means a review of an eligible permit that:\n(a) is performed by a qualified reviewer;\n(b) is completed within the number of days established by board rule under Section 40-14-203; and\n(c) concludes with the issuance of a preliminary permit decision.\n(5) \"Permit\" means any of the following issued under this title:\n(a) a permit;\n(b) a plan;\n(c) a license; or\n(d) an administrative authorization made by the director.\n(6) \"Preliminary permit decision\" means a recommendation to the division by a qualified reviewer under expedited review to:\n(a) approve a permit application for final technical review and approval;\n(b) deny a permit application; or\n(c) return the permit application to the applicant with a description of the permit application's deficiencies.\n(7) \"Qualified reviewer\" means a professional engineer, land surveyor, geologist, landscape architect, or other licensed professional certified by the division to review an application for an eligible permit under this chapter.","path":["Title 40 Mines and Mining","Chapter 40-14 Expedited Permit Review","Part 40-14-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title40/Chapter14/40-14-S101.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"60239a329a4e27b1ab1d028b5343f50bd00f7e3ade09da044b45a41e84dfda02","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-40-13-402","next":"us-ut/utah-code-40-14-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
