{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-1204","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-1a-1204","heading":"Automobile driver education fee -- Amount -- When paid -- Exception.","body":"(1) Each year there is levied and shall be paid to the commission the automobile driver education fee.\n(2)\n(a) Except as provided in Subsections (2)(b) and (c), the fee is $2.50 upon each motor vehicle to be registered for a one-year registration period.\n(b) The fee is $2.00 upon each motor vehicle to be registered under Section 41-1a-215.5 for a six-month registration period.\n(c) The following registrations are exempt from the fee in Subsection (2)(a) or (b):\n(i) a motorcycle registration; and\n(ii) a registration of a vehicle with a Purple Heart special group license plate issued:\n(A) on or before December 31, 2023; or\n(B) in accordance with Part 16, Sponsored Special Group License Plates.\n(3) For a vehicle registered for a 24-month period as provided in Section 41-1a-215.5, the fee amounts are double the amounts due for a 12-month registration of the same vehicle.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-1a Motor Vehicle Act","Part 41-1a-12 Fee and Tax Requirements"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter1a/41-1a-S1204.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"7d99b19853438310d2f166531a5b5b10f6cc6e672dab05fe9140bf635d1f44b2","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-1203","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-1205"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
