{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-217","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-1a-217","heading":"Application for renewal of registration.","body":"(1)\n(a) An applicant may renew a vehicle registration by:\n(i) filing an application for registration renewal; and\n(ii) paying the fees or taxes required under Section 41-1a-203.\n(b) If an applicant is applying for automatic registration renewal as described in Section 41-1a-216, the applicant shall provide payment information and other required information as described in Section 41-1a-216 and relevant administrative rules made in accordance with Subsection 41-1a-216(9).\n(2) The applicant shall ensure that the application for registration renewal and the payment for applicable fees or taxes is accompanied by a certificate of emissions inspection if required under Section 41-6a-1642.\n(3) The division shall issue a new registration card that contains:\n(a) the identical information with respect to the owner and the vehicle description required by Section 41-1a-213; and\n(b) the new expiration date.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-1a Motor Vehicle Act","Part 41-1a-2 Registration"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter1a/41-1a-S217.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"9c920db20d61bb10de5a02cf6cd4d147b7e6072d664a242a988d83a2540699cc","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-216","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-218"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
