{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-418","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-1a-418","heading":"Authorized special group license plates.","body":"(1) In accordance with this chapter, the division shall issue to an eligible applicant a special group license plate in one of the following categories:\n(a) a disability special group license plate issued in accordance with Section 41-1a-420;\n(b) a special group license plate issued for a:\n(i) vintage vehicle;\n(ii) farm truck; or\n(iii) special group license plate described in Section 41-1a-1602.\n(2) The division may not issue a new type of special group license plate unless the division receives:\n(a) a private donation for the start-up fee established under Section 63J-1-504 for the production and administrative costs of providing the new special group license plate; or\n(b) a legislative appropriation for the start-up fee described in Subsection (2)(a).\n(3) Notwithstanding other provisions of this chapter, the division may not require a contribution as defined in Section 41-1a-1601 for a special group license plate described in Subsection (1)(a), (1)(b)(i), or (1)(b)(ii).","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-1a Motor Vehicle Act","Part 41-1a-4 License Plates and Registration Indicia"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter1a/41-1a-S418.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"d232f107e21c80e81050b5e38c72579e72fea0689e3914025fca87d484b1278d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-416","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-419"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
