{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-503","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-1a-503","heading":"Certificate of title or receipt of surrender of ownership documents required -- Application by owner.","body":"(1) The owner of a manufactured home or mobile home shall apply to the division for a certificate of title unless the manufactured home or mobile home is previously registered as real property under Subsection 41-1a-506(1).\n(2)\n(a) An owner of a manufactured home or mobile home previously issued a certificate of title who attaches that manufactured home or mobile home to real property shall apply for a receipt of surrender of ownership documents within 45 days of attaching to the real property.\n(b) Upon application, the division shall issue a receipt of surrender of ownership documents in lieu of a certificate of title.\n(c) However, manufactured homes and mobile homes are not exempt from the other requirements of this part.\n(3)\n(a) The owner of a manufactured home or mobile home previously issued a receipt of surrender of ownership documents who separates that manufactured home or mobile home from the real property shall apply for a certificate of title within 45 days of the separation and before any transfer of ownership of that manufactured home or mobile home.\n(b) Upon application, the division shall issue a certificate of title in lieu of a receipt of surrender of ownership documents.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-1a Motor Vehicle Act","Part 41-1a-5 Titling Requirement"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter1a/41-1a-S503.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"3fae29352815540464a9ac0aa4f0176d02a02692a7c74b5f4cd768faacad4dd1","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-501","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-504"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
