{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-523","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-1a-523","heading":"Electronic titling.","body":"(1) The commission shall develop and establish an electronic titling system to process a vehicle title through electronic means.\n(2) The commission shall ensure that the electronic titling system is available:\n(a) for a dealer, no later than December 31, 2025; and\n(b) for an individual who is not a dealer, no later than December 31, 2026.\n(3) The commission shall ensure that the electronic titling system:\n(a) allows all parties to a sale or transfer of a vehicle to transfer a vehicle title by electronic means;\n(b) allows a lienholder to attach or release a lien; and\n(c) provides a vehicle title in a secure, digital form.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-1a Motor Vehicle Act","Part 41-1a-5 Titling Requirement"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter1a/41-1a-S523.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"4c805c78cea74f2a3e6e62e96ff8463bf02a74387a991db0fa3e199a6a4d277c","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-522","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-1a-601"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
