{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-22-12","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-22-12","heading":"Restrictions on use of public lands.","body":"(1) Except as provided in Section 79-4-203 , federal agencies are encouraged and agencies of the state and its subdivisions shall pursue opportunities to open public land to responsible off-highway vehicle use and cross-country motor vehicle travel.\n(2) A person may not tear down, mutilate, deface, or destroy:\n(a) a sign, signboard, or other notice that prohibits or regulates the use of an off-highway vehicle on public land; or\n(b) a fence or other enclosure or a gate or bars belonging to the fence or other enclosure.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is an infraction.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-22 Off-highway Vehicles"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter22/41-22-S12.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"c96043d8ee001ad75e7e01bf1921ff2d0fd07632d6e3cf00eb2939c5f4306f53","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-22-11","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-22-12.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
