{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1506","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-1506","heading":"Motorcycles -- Required equipment -- Brakes.","body":"(1) A motorcycle shall be equipped with the following items:\n(a) one head lamp that, when factory equipped with an automatic lighting ignition system, may not be disconnected;\n(b) one tail lamp;\n(c) either a tail lamp or a separate lamp which illuminates the rear license plate with a white light;\n(d) one red reflector on the rear, either separate or as part of the tail lamp;\n(e) one stop lamp;\n(f) a braking system, other than parking brake, in accordance with Section 41-6a-1623;\n(g) a horn or warning device in accordance with Section 41-6a-1625;\n(h) a muffler and emission control system in accordance with Section 41-6a-1626;\n(i) a mirror in accordance with Section 41-6a-1627; and\n(j) tires in accordance with Section 41-6a-1636.\n(2) An autocycle shall be equipped with the following items:\n(a) a seatbelt for each seat installed in the autocycle in accordance with Section 41-6a-1628;\n(b) at least one head lamp that, when factory equipped with an automatic lighting ignition system, may not be disconnected;\n(c) at least one tail lamp;\n(d) either a tail lamp or a separate lamp that illuminates the rear license plate with a white light;\n(e) at least one red reflector, either separate or as part of the tail lamp or tail lamps;\n(f) at least one stop lamp;\n(g) a braking system, other than a parking brake, in accordance with Section 41-6a-1623;\n(h) a horn or warning device in accordance with Section 41-6a-1625;\n(i) a muffler and emission control system in accordance with Section 41-6a-1626 that, when factory equipped, may not be removed;\n(j) a mirror in accordance with Section 41-6a-1627; and\n(k) tires in accordance with Section 41-6a-1636.\n(3) A violation of this section is an infraction.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-15 Special Vehicles"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S1506.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"a9fad2ffe2ebdae8a3ac64a9994db34b56d62b1f851788facf06746570942d74","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1505","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1507"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
