{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1513","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-1513","heading":"Electric mobility devices -- Law enforcement hold.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Hold\" means an action by a peace officer to take into custody and retain an individual's personal electric device.\n(b) \"Personal electric vehicle\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 41-6a-1512.\n(c) \"Release\" means an action by a peace officer to transfer custody of an individual's personal electric device to an individual.\n(2) If a peace officer observes an individual under 18 years old commit a violation of this chapter and the violation occurred while the individual was operating a personal electric vehicle, the peace officer may hold the personal electric vehicle.\n(3) If a peace officer holds an individual's personal electric vehicle as described in Subsection (2), the peace officer may release the personal electric vehicle to only the individual's parent or guardian.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-15 Special Vehicles"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S1513.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"2d194cc01fa2a80f37833f89ee335c6f2271ee64e5bf56813817314e1048b1c0","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1511","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1601"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
