{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1612","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-1612","heading":"Back-up lamps -- Side marker lamps.","body":"(1)\n(a) A motor vehicle may be equipped with one or more back-up lamps either separately or in combination with other lamps.\n(b) A back-up lamp or lamps may not be lighted when the motor vehicle is in forward motion.\n(c) A lighted back-up lamp shall emit a white light.\n(2) A vehicle may be equipped with one or more side marker lamps that may be flashed in conjunction with turn or vehicular hazard warning signals.\n(3) A back-up lamp and side marker lamp under this section shall comply with rules made by the department under Section 41-6a-1601.\n(4) A violation of this section is an infraction.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-16 Vehicle Equipment"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S1612.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"c913f095248c34a3f87553dec7f4ee3417ce6cba1b485fba403e5858107d4549","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1611","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1613"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
