{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1632","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-1632","heading":"Bumpers.","body":"(1) A motor vehicle shall be equipped with a bumper on both front and rear of the motor vehicle, except a motor vehicle that was not originally designed or manufactured with a bumper or bumpers.\n(2)\n(a) On a motor vehicle required to have bumpers under Subsection (1), a bumper shall be:\n(i) at least 4.5 inches in vertical height;\n(ii) centered on the vehicle's center line; and\n(iii) extend no less than the width of the respective wheel track distance.\n(b) A bumper shall be securely mounted, horizontal load bearing, and attached to the motor vehicle's frame to effectively transfer impact when engaged.\n(3) If a motor vehicle is originally or later equipped with a bumper, the bumper shall:\n(a) be maintained in operational condition; and\n(b) comply with this section.\n(4) A violation of this section is an infraction.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-16 Vehicle Equipment"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S1632.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"530f7d7885867f4bceafec9cea17617d0eb73c779f44c21039b8c9439c312b57","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1631","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1633"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
