{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1713","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-1713","heading":"Penalty for littering on a highway.","body":"(1) Except as provided in Subsection (3), an individual who violates any of the provisions of Section 41-6a-1712 is guilty of an infraction and shall be fined:\n(a) not less than $200 for a violation; or\n(b) not less than $500 for a second or subsequent violation within three years of a previous violation of this section.\n(2) The sentencing judge may require that the offender devote at least eight hours in cleaning up:\n(a) litter caused by the offender; and\n(b) existing litter from a safe area designated by the sentencing judge.\n(3) An individual who violates Subsection 41-6a-1712(6) is guilty of a class C misdemeanor.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-17 Miscellaneous Rules"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S1713.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"b04e74c52440e2bc94e4587da5dd7998f808f7071c0ec025d76b16171d2a6f80","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1712","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-1714"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
