{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-405","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-405","heading":"Garage keeper to report damaged vehicle without damage sticker.","body":"(1)\n(a) The person in charge of any garage or repair shop shall make a report to the nearest law enforcement agency within 24 hours of receiving a vehicle which shows evidence of having been:\n(i) involved in an accident for which an accident report may be requested under Section 41-6a-402; or\n(ii) struck by any bullet.\n(b) The report required under Subsection (1)(a) shall include the:\n(i) vehicle identification number;\n(ii) registration number; and\n(iii) name and address of the owner or operator of the vehicle.\n(2) If a damaged vehicle sticker describing the damage is affixed to the vehicle by a peace officer, a report under Subsection (1) is not required.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (1) is an infraction.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-4 Accident Responsibilities"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S405.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"2a91d47e30b5e0f8a0dff38a3210bf796d88f4c3d66fe942cd259c5f35043d09","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-404","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-406"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
