{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-708","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-708","heading":"Signs and markings on roadway -- No-passing zones -- Exceptions.","body":"(1)\n(a) A highway authority may designate no-passing zones on any portion of a highway under its jurisdiction if the highway authority determines passing is especially hazardous.\n(b) A highway authority shall designate a no-passing zone under Subsection (1)(a) by placing appropriate traffic-control devices on the highway.\n(2) A person operating a vehicle may not drive on the left side of:\n(a) the roadway within the no-passing zone; or\n(b) any pavement striping designed to mark the no-passing zone.\n(3) Subsection (2) does not apply:\n(a) under the conditions described under Subsections 41-6a-701(1)(b) and (c); or\n(b) to a person operating a vehicle turning left onto or from an alley, private road, or driveway.\n(4) A violation of Subsection (2) is an infraction.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-7 Driving on Right Side of Highway and Passing"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S708.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"70947d4efef04a373ec37e4592f838a1b582c7b676e54e5b9c1745da7fd8edec","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-707","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-709"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
