{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-718","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-718","heading":"Operation of a snowplow -- Approaching a snowplow -- Prohibition to pass.","body":"(1)\n(a) A snowplow operator shall ensure that a snowplow in operation on a highway displays flashing yellow lights.\n(b) An individual operating a snowplow as an agent of a highway authority, while engaged in the removal of snow or ice on a highway, may not be charged with a violation under this chapter related to parking, standing, turning, backing, lighting, or yielding the right-of-way.\n(c) Notwithstanding the exemptions described in Subsection (1)(b), an individual operating a snowplow shall operate the snowplow with reasonable care.\n(2) If a snowplow is displaying flashing yellow lights, an individual operating a vehicle in the vicinity of the snowplow may not pass or overtake a snowplow on a side of the snowplow where a plow blade is deployed.\n(3) If three or more snowplows are operating in echelon formation, an individual operating a vehicle in the vicinity of the snowplows may not overtake or pass the snowplows on either side of the snowplows.\n(4) A violation of Subsection (2) or (3) is an infraction.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-7 Driving on Right Side of Highway and Passing"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S718.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"cfc03ab7f6776dda415693bc06366195fa9aa60cdaa3df2c3b1bf053bbad7d71","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-717","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-801"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
