{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-802","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-802","heading":"Turning around -- Where prohibited -- Visibility.","body":"(1) As used in this section, \"railroad grade crossing\" means the area between the passive or active warning signs where a railroad track and roadway intersect.\n(2) The operator of a vehicle may not make a U-turn or turn the vehicle to proceed in the opposite direction:\n(a) unless the movement can be made safely and without interfering with other traffic;\n(b) on any curve, or upon the approach to, or near the crest of a grade, if the vehicle is not visible at a distance of 500 feet by the operator of any other vehicle approaching from either direction; and\n(c) on a railroad track or railroad grade crossing.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is an infraction.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-8 Turning and Signaling for Turns"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S802.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"e6dbff3b34ba9a6ed5e4f165aa4f5af60372a5d9bd32627db55269ba667513e3","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-801","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-803"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
