{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-901","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 41-6a-901","heading":"Right-of-way between vehicles -- Unregulated intersection.","body":"(1) The operator of a vehicle approaching an intersection not regulated by a traffic-control device shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle that has entered the intersection from a different highway.\n(2) Except as specified in Subsection (3) and unless otherwise directed by a peace officer, the operator of the vehicle on the left shall yield the right-of-way to the vehicle on the right when:\n(a) more than one vehicle enters or approaches an intersection from different highways at approximately the same time; and\n(b) the intersection:\n(i) is not regulated by a traffic-control device;\n(ii) is not regulated because the traffic-control signal is inoperative; or\n(iii) is regulated from all directions by stop signs.\n(3) The operator of a vehicle approaching an intersection not regulated by a traffic-control device:\n(a) from a highway that does not continue beyond the intersection, shall yield the right-of-way to the operator of any vehicle on the intersecting highway; and\n(b) from a highway that is not paved, shall yield the right-of-way to the operator of any vehicle on a paved intersecting highway.\n(4) A violation of this section is an infraction.","path":["Title 41 Motor Vehicles","Chapter 41-6a Traffic Code","Part 41-6a-9 Right-of-Way"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title41/Chapter6a/41-6a-S901.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"73d3a4e35e81cf2fe09af263fe36b68f38cf1f4642a472c36a6aea1ef744049b","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-804","next":"us-ut/utah-code-41-6a-902"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
