{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-49-20-420","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 49-20-420","heading":"Coverage for in vitro fertilization and genetic testing.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Qualified condition\" means:\n(i) cystic fibrosis;\n(ii) spinal muscular atrophy;\n(iii) Morquio Syndrome;\n(iv) myotonic dystrophy; or\n(v) sickle cell anemia.\n(b) \"Qualified individual\" means a covered individual who:\n(i) has been diagnosed by a physician as having a genetic trait associated with a qualified condition; and\n(ii) intends to get pregnant with a partner who is diagnosed by a physician as having a genetic trait associated with the same qualified condition as the covered individual.\n(2) For a plan year that begins on or after July 1, 2020, the program shall provide coverage for a qualified individual for:\n(a) in vitro fertilization services; and\n(b) genetic testing of a qualified individual who receives in vitro fertilization services under Subsection (2)(a).\n(3) Before November 1, 2022, and before November 1 of every third year thereafter, the program shall:\n(a) calculate the change in state spending attributable to the coverage under this section; and\n(b) report the amount described in Subsection (3)(a) to the Health and Human Services Interim Committee and the Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee.","path":["Title 49 Utah State Retirement and Insurance Benefit Act","Chapter 49-20 Public Employees' Benefit and Insurance Program Act","Part 49-20-4 Insurance Program"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title49/Chapter20/49-20-S420.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"e1742d14288e88146c2242bc8563b6b042768365cf51ec3b7a2d6dd9a557284c","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-49-20-419","next":"us-ut/utah-code-49-20-421"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
