{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-10-117","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-10-117","heading":"Law enforcement agency with school resource officer unit -- Policy.","body":"(1) A law enforcement agency with a school resource officer unit shall develop a school resource officer policy.\n(2) The law enforcement agency shall ensure the policy described in Subsection (1) includes:\n(a) the process for assignment and selection of a school resource officer;\n(b) required training of a school resource officer;\n(c) internal reporting requirements;\n(d) arrest and use of force protocols;\n(e) general oversight and accountability; and\n(f) other duties required of a school resource officer.\n(3) The state security chief described in Section 53-22-102 shall create a model policy consistent with this section.\n(4) A law enforcement agency may adopt the model policy described in Subsection (3).","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-10 Criminal Investigations and Technical Services Act","Part 53-10-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter10/53-10-S117.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"894667ab06835d957254a906dc36f0623d6199512aff726f437118963f861076","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-10-116","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-10-118"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
