{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-10-907","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-10-907","heading":"Statewide sexual assault kit tracking system.","body":"(1) The department shall develop and implement a statewide tracking system that contains the following information for all sexual assault kits collected by law enforcement:\n(a) the submission status of sexual assault kits by law enforcement to the Utah Bureau of Forensic Services;\n(b) notification by the Utah Bureau of Forensic Services to law enforcement of DNA analysis findings; and\n(c) the storage location of sexual assault kits.\n(2) The tracking system shall include a secure electronic access that allows the submitting agency, collecting facility, department, and a victim, or his or her designee, to access or receive information, provided that the disclosure does not impede or compromise an active investigation, about the:\n(a) lab submission status;\n(b) DNA analysis findings provided to law enforcement; and\n(c) storage location of a sexual assault kit that was gathered from that victim.","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-10 Criminal Investigations and Technical Services Act","Part 53-10-9 Sexual Assault Kit Processing Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter10/53-10-S907.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"13c65344198e563eb5a30553de7c0fdf2c81b28c3e0a0b88c2942c8123ffe992","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-10-906","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-10-908"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
