{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-19-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-19-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Division\" means the Peace Officer Standards and Training Division created in Section 53-6-103.\n(2) \"Formal action\" against a private law enforcement agency includes:\n(a) placing a private law enforcement agency on probation;\n(b) extending the probation of a private law enforcement agency; or\n(c) revoking the certification of a private law enforcement agency.\n(3) \"Informal action\" against a private law enforcement agency includes:\n(a) an oral or written warning;\n(b) a written reprimand; or\n(c) a written order to remedy noncompliance with a provision of this chapter, which may include a deadline for compliance and verification of compliance.\n(4) \"Private law enforcement agency\" means a law enforcement agency operated by, and at, a private institution of higher education.","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-19 Certification of Private Law Enforcement Agency","Part 53-19-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter19/53-19-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"feb5527c41873c55bd26736616fde85ffd95df90b1c1009965f2794ef6485a99","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-19-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-19-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
