{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-22-101","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-22-101","heading":"School Security Act -- Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Advisory board\" means the Education Advisory Board created in Section 53-22-104.2.\n(2) \"County security chief\" means the individual whom a county sheriff appoints in accordance with Section 53-22-103 to oversee school safety.\n(3) \"Local education agency\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 53E-1-102.\n(4) \"Public school\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 53G-9-205.1.\n(5) \"School\" means an elementary school or a secondary school that:\n(a) is a public school; and\n(b) provides instruction for one or more of the grades of kindergarten through grade 12.\n(6) \"School is in session\" means the same as the term is defined in Section 53E-3-516.\n(7) \"School resource officer\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 53G-8-701.\n(8) \"State security chief\" means an individual appointed by the commissioner under Section 53-22-102.\n(9) \"Task force\" means the School Security Task Force created in Section 53-22-104.1.","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-22 School Security Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter22/53-22-S101.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"00a8f4b3b8e7b913122abf8b8f4fda2b7fbf6df14ab4847bb51096517bcaff4e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-21-105","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-22-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
