{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-22-109","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-22-109","heading":"School safety -- Compliance.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Compliance issue\" means a violation of a school safety requirement under:\n(i) this chapter; or\n(ii) rules established in accordance with this chapter.\n(b) \"Tiered system of support\" means an escalating system of:\n(i) technical assistance;\n(ii) intervention; and\n(iii) corrective action.\n(2) The state security chief shall, in collaboration with the School Safety Center:\n(a) establish a tiered system of support for a compliance issue;\n(b) develop implementation procedures for the system; and\n(c) define criteria for:\n(i) evaluating a compliance issue;\n(ii) assigning an appropriate tier; and\n(iii) monitoring progress.\n(3) In establishing the system under Subsection (2), the state security chief and School Safety Center shall consider:\n(a) severity of the compliance issue;\n(b) risk to student and staff safety;\n(c) available technical assistance resources;\n(d) local education agency capacity; and\n(e) required corrective action timelines.","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-22 School Security Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter22/53-22-S109.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"9c29b4fdd0be67ee4d2771272023ee0087d66b49e350cf5faa3d09dd7c8fafad","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-22-108","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-25-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
