{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-2a-1303","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-2a-1303","heading":"Disaster Response and Recovery Grant.","body":"(1) The division may grant money under Subsection 53-2a-1302(4) appropriated from the account after receiving an application from an affected community for a disaster response and recovery grant.\n(2) An affected community is eligible to receive a disaster response and recovery grant appropriated from the account if:\n(a) the affected community submits an application described in Subsection (1) that includes the information required by the rules described in Section 53-2a-1305;\n(b) the occurrence of a disaster in the affected community results in:\n(i) the president of the United States declaring an emergency or major disaster in the state;\n(ii) the governor declaring a state of emergency under Section 53-2a-206; or\n(iii) the local municipality or county declaring an emergency under Section 53-2a-208;\n(c) the governing body of the affected community conducts an official damage assessment of the disaster;\n(d) the division, after reviewing the application described in Subsection (2)(a), the official damage assessment described in Subsection (2)(c), and other information relevant to the division's determination, determines that a grant to the affected community would be an appropriate and necessary use of account funds;\n(e) the division determines there is sufficient money for the grant; and\n(f) the affected community agrees to grant funding requirements as determined by the division, including the affected community's minimum threshold payment amount.","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-2a Emergency Management Act","Part 53-2a-13 Disaster Response, Recovery, and Mitigation Restricted Account"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter2a/53-2a-S1303.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"d6927c7138568e5fa4ba1670932e4999a7f82b5dc92d7affca84dd7754075207","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-2a-1302","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-2a-1304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
