{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-2a-1402","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-2a-1402","heading":"Designation and duties of emergency managers.","body":"(1) Each political subdivision of the state of Utah shall designate an emergency manager.\n(2) A political subdivision may designate an officer of the political subdivision to serve as the emergency manager.\n(3) An emergency manager shall:\n(a) create a plan to coordinate emergency preparedness, response, mitigation, coordination, and other recovery activities; and\n(b) coordinate with other emergency managers and officials to ensure efficient, appropriate, and coordinated emergency preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery.\n(4) Each political subdivision shall provide for emergency interim succession of the emergency manager as described in Part 8, Emergency Interim Succession Act.","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-2a Emergency Management Act","Part 53-2a-14 Local Emergency Management Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter2a/53-2a-S1402.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"039fb47671d4a6f01ee05ee847f72267ed8b9c74556f8809c3774026a43ae38b","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-2a-1401","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-2a-1403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
