{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-2d-209","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-2d-209","heading":"Regional Emergency Medical Services Liaisons -- Qualifications -- Duties.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Liaison\" means a regional emergency medical services liaison hired under this section.\n(b) \"Rural county\" means a county of the third, fourth, fifth, or sixth class.\n(2) The department, in consultation with the bureau, shall hire five individuals to serve as regional emergency medical services liaisons to:\n(a) serve the needs of rural counties in providing emergency medical services in accordance with this chapter;\n(b) act as a liaison between the bureau and individuals or entities responsible for emergency medical services in rural counties, including:\n(i) emergency medical services providers;\n(ii) local officials; and\n(iii) local health departments or agencies;\n(c) provide support and training to emergency medical services providers in rural counties;\n(d) assist rural counties in utilizing state and federal grant programs for financing emergency medical services; and\n(e) serve as emergency medical service personnel to assist licensed providers with ambulance staffing needs within rural counties.\n(3) Each liaison hired under Subsection (2):\n(a) shall reside in a rural county; and\n(b) shall be licensed as:\n(i) an advanced emergency medical technician as defined in Section 53-2e-101; or\n(ii) a paramedic as defined in Section 53-2e-101.\n(4) The bureau shall provide each liaison with a vehicle and other equipment.","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-2d Emergency Medical Services Act","Part 53-2d-2 Programs, Plans, and Duties"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter2d/53-2d-S209.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"48184b3710ca2bfb9b1c3a346e61b313448ddf41f4b1fb6e86054651db0175e4","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-2d-208","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-2d-210"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
