{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-7-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-7-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Board\" means the Utah Fire Prevention Board created in Section 53-7-203, except as provided in Part 3, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Act.\n(2) \"Director\" means the state fire marshal appointed in accordance with Section 53-7-103.\n(3) \"Division\" means the State Fire Marshal Division created in Section 53-7-103.\n(4) \"Fire officer\" means:\n(a) the state fire marshal;\n(b) the state fire marshal's deputies or salaried assistants;\n(c) the fire chief or fire marshal of any county, city, or town fire department;\n(d) the fire officer of any fire district;\n(e) the fire officer of any special service district organized for fire protection purposes; and\n(f) authorized personnel of any of the persons specified in Subsections (4)(a) through (e).\n(5) \"State fire code\" means the code adopted under Section 15A-1-403.\n(6) \"State fire marshal\" means the fire marshal appointed director by the commissioner under Section 53-7-103.","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-7 Utah Fire Prevention and Safety Act","Part 53-7-1 State Fire Marshal Division Administration"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter7/53-7-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"448b8e53e02bbedbbe7560d0ba60a51d279fd6397d04baeedfff79f015fd8613","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-7-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-7-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
