{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-53-7-505","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 53-7-505","heading":"Authority to have reasonable access to inspect facilities and records.","body":"(1) The state fire marshal, a representative of the state fire marshal, or a local fire enforcement official may conduct inspections to ensure compliance with Section 53-7-504. The state fire marshal, a representative of the state fire marshal, or a local fire enforcement official may, regarding facilities within this state used in the business of importing, distributing, selling, or storing of lighters:\n(a) have access during reasonable business hours;\n(b) inspect the facilities and any lighters located at the facilities; and\n(c) inspect all business records pertaining to lighter import, distribution, sale, or storage.\n(2) A person engaged in this state in the business of importing, distributing, selling, or storing lighters shall grant the state fire marshal, a representative of the state fire marshal, or a local fire enforcement official reasonable access for conducting inspections under Subsection (1).","path":["Title 53 Public Safety Code","Chapter 53-7 Utah Fire Prevention and Safety Act","Part 53-7-5 Regulation of Novelty Lighters"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter7/53-7-S505.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"09f17c3b2a934b840948d32103ac96afb2eb59bdc4077aef99261ffb14ceab05","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-53-7-504","next":"us-ut/utah-code-53-7-506"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
